Ground Zero Acoustic Lounge is proud to be hosting our very own women and songs event. There is without a doubt an endless amount of talent in our area, but this concert puts the spotlight on our local women.
This show features Bev Finch, a powerhouse with her vocals and real life experiences to move you with her amazing writing.
A labour of love, and heartbreak.
Bev Finch has a passion for a good story, then she takes her love of music, and combines the two. Voila! A song is born. Reaching deep into her life experiences, she weaves images, emotion, color, and texture, to create a vocal performance that will bring tears to your eyes, passion to your heart, and new appreciation to what it is to be a singer/songwriter.

Mary Faherty, hailing from Nanaimo, Born in Ontario and adopted by a family living near Toronto, for as long as she remembers, Mary has been captivated by music. She started listening for her muse on the piano at the age of 3. She has always been sensitive to all things spiritual and having the opportunity to spend a lot of time as a young girl in Muskoka, Haliburton and Sauble Beach, she has a strong appreciation of nature.

After getting her first guitar as a teenager, Mary started teaching herself how to play, hoping to one day share her songs that are inspired from the wild beauty found in nature and in life. She has lived in the US, Vancouver and northern BC before moving to Nanaimo in 2009. In Nanaimo, she has found a very collaborative and supportive network of musicians and artists, including Dave Kilbank, who produced her first CD and is presently producing her second CD.

Diane Ermacora-
Diane of Tangerine Swing.
Tangerine swing was formed in Nelson late in 2007 when Diane Ermacora asked David Mitchell to accompany her piano and vocals with his acoustic upright bass. Ermacora played and sang a broad spectrum of music, from Broadway to folk to country to jazz to ’70s singer-songwriter music. She loves swing jazz, a love that came from listening to the radio as a child and was later developed by attending seven summer swing music camps in Sorrento held by the BC Swing Association.

“It’s such a fun and lively style of music,” she said. “Even though a lot of people say they don’t listen to jazz, pretty soon you’ll see them tapping their feet when they hear that swing.”

Ermacora started playing piano and singing when she was five years old; she started with classical lessons, then played by ear throughout her life. She loves to sing and has performed not only as a solo act and with Tangerine Swing, but also in theater productions. Ermacora attended the music program at Selkirk College in 2000, which she says connected the dots and gave her the confidence to sing and play publicly.

Chelsea Tomczyk-
A very talented local musician, who rarely showcases her talent, so you are in for a treat with her voice and lyrics. This budding artist's writing and powerful voice will move you to the core. Chelsea is a self taught piano player, who writes songs about the real life feelings we go through as we grow and learn through our experiences.
